It was a flavor that used to only be sold in Taco Bell fountain drinks, but is now apparently sold in bottles as well.

This Mountain Dew flavored was served only at Taco Bell for years, but now they will release it in bottles and cans, for a limited time only. It will be great to actually get it in stores, even for limited time. And this is the first picture of it. Mountain Dew hasn't officially confirmed it, but rogue Pepsi employees did, and this photo comes as a confirmation. And yes, I think that it will only be released in the US, at this time.

The taste can be slightly different from taste bud, to taste bud, I'd say that bitter sweet, that's how most people I know find this to be. It is good, pretty good in fact, but I wouldn't call it the best Dew flavor, ever. Here's a review from someone's who reckons himself a professional .

The problem is, it'll never taste as good as it does out of the machine at Taco Hell.

I've never had this before.
I've never been to Taco Bell before.
Oh well.

Cans should be able to preserve the flavor quite well.

actual conversation between my wife and me as we were pulling into a Taco Bell drive thru:
Her: I think I want a chicken Quesadilla. What are you getting?
Me: heartburn, and possibly diarrhea

The "fresh" stuff from the machine is syrup being kinda-sorta mixed with carbonated water at the nozzle. The benefit is it'll never be the least bit flat (unless their CO2 tank is almost out), but there's no way it'll have the consistency of the million dollar precision vats they make the bottled stuff in.

Plus you have the questionable cleaning schedule of the nozzles, if you care about such things (I don't, but if they've really been neglected they get pretty gross).

I used to work at a fast food place while in High School. I remember the bags of syrup oh too well. I also remember being able to control the syrup/water mixture, and make some sodas taste AMAZEBALLS.
